U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Tuesday that Saudi Arabia will invest $600 billion in the United States during a White House meeting with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
The commitment was initially made during Trump’s visit to the Gulf states in May.
“This number could increase a bit more. We greatly appreciate it,” Trump said during the meeting with the Crown Prince.
He clarified that the funds would be used for investments in factories, companies, and on Wall Street, adding that the initiative will also help create jobs in the U.S.
Trump described bin Salman as an excellent ally.
