The NATO-led KFOR mission announced that its commander, Major General Özkan Ulutaş, hosted a meeting with the Chargé d’Affaires of the United States, Anu Prattipati, on Friday.
According to KFOR, the meeting served as an opportunity for General Ulutaş to present the current security situation in the region, while also emphasizing the longstanding and continuous contribution of the United States to KFOR’s mission and to the broader stability of the Western Balkans.
In its statement, KFOR noted:
Today, at KFOR Headquarters in Camp Film City, Pristina, Major General Özkan Ulutaş welcomed Her Excellency Anu Prattipati, Chief of the U.S. Temporary Mission in Kosovo.
The discussion provided a valuable opportunity for the Commander to outline the security environment, reiterating KFOR’s commitment to ensuring a safe and secure environment for all citizens of Kosovo. In this context, General Ulutaş highlighted the critical and enduring support of the United States in strengthening KFOR operations and promoting regional stability.
KFOR reaffirmed that it continues to carry out its mandate under UN Security Council Resolution 1244 (1999), working to guarantee a safe environment and freedom of movement for all communities in Kosovo. The mission stressed that it operates impartially, and in close coordination with the Kosovo Police and EULEX, each within their respective security responsibilities.
