In an atmosphere filled with pain and anger, citizens of Gjakova gathered today at the City Park to demand justice for Daorsa Spahija, the 25-year-old who tragically lost her life in Tetovo on November 6.
The protest, held in her honor, served as a powerful call for justice and a challenge to the authorities to treat Daorsa’s death with greater seriousness.
Holding placards and chanting loudly, protesters demanded that every suspicion surrounding Daorsa’s death be taken seriously and that authorities uncover the truth. Their messages were clear and deeply moving:
“Don’t let murder be called suicide!”,
“Women should not fear love!”,
“We will not remain silent!”,
“Justice for Daorsa!”, and
“The state must act, not be corrupted!”
The protest, organized in a city overwhelmed with emotion, became a strong show of support for Daorsa’s family and a call to all those who believe in justice and equality. Numerous activists and citizens urged that this case be investigated thoroughly and that crimes against women be treated with the seriousness they deserve—emphasizing that no woman should ever be a victim of violence or injustice.
