The Vetëvendosje official currently serving as Acting Minister of Finance, Hekuran Murati, has spoken about the situation in Prishtina following the shutdown of the urban transport lines.

He stated that what is happening is a “political battle” orchestrated by the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), and not the fault of the Government, as LDK claims.

Murati echoed the remarks of Kosovo’s President, Vjosa Osmani, emphasizing that she had offered Lumir Abdixhiku the opportunity to convene a session in the Assembly of Kosovo to vote on Prishtina’s budget before dissolving the legislature.

“Vjosa Osmani gave them yet another chance, that before dissolving the Assembly, the budget could be voted on — including for the three municipalities, RTK, and the international agreements. This is the problem. What we witnessed today is LDK and Lumir Abdixhiku playing politics at the expense of the citizens of Kosovo. A month ago, I warned about this issue with Urban Traffic,” Murati said.
