Hekuran Murati of Vetëvendosje stated that regarding the salaries of RTK employees, “we are trying to find a solution,” but he emphasized that the reason they remain unpaid is that a parliamentary commission was not formed by the former opposition parties before the Assembly of Kosovo was dissolved.

Speaking to an RTK journalist, Murati said the solution is “difficult,” but they are exploring a “form of savings,” without specifying the details.

Regarding the reallocation of the budget reserve, Murati noted that “it was depleted at the beginning of the year” due to a case the country lost in arbitration over Hotel Grand.

“It is an extremely difficult situation that all these families do not receive their salaries. Despite our willingness, we found a way back in August, hoping the Assembly would be constituted. We used an overdraft, with the understanding that when funds arrive, the overdraft would be repaid. However, the Assembly must establish a parliamentary commission, which did not happen. Other parties categorically refused. We were ready for the commission, but our votes were insufficient. This led to the situation where the Assembly refused the RTK salaries. There is no way to operationalize the commission and allocate the funds. We are trying to find a solution.

If it were only RTK, it would be easier, but we also have the Central Election Commission and other issues. It complicates the solution, but we are attempting to find a way through savings, to see if it will be possible. As I said, accountability should be demanded from the other parties. The long-term solution is a very old problem: accountability. The other parties denied them salaries. The budget reserve, which had been allocated and budgeted, was unfortunately depleted in the first part of the year because we lost in arbitration regarding Hotel Grand. It was the obligation of previous governments,” Murati stated.
