Kosovo’s President, Vjosa Osmani, participated in the traditional “Sofra Shqiptare” in Shkodër as part of the November 28th festivities, the Albanian Independence Day. The event, held in the city square, served as a platform to highlight cultural ties and cooperation between Kosovo and Albania.

Benet Beci, Mayor of Shkodër, emphasized the historical and cultural connections, stating:

“Shkodër has always been a bridge of goodwill and cooperation, fostering brotherhood with Kosovo. Your presence today symbolizes the deep bond that unites us through history, culture, and shared values.”

In her remarks, President Osmani highlighted the special closeness between Kosovo and Shkodër:

“Tonight, we are in the heart of a city that needs no introduction. From Kosovo, we feel Shkodër as our second home. We are connected by language, music that has accompanied us in every celebration, traditions, and humor—a bond that is both a survival tool and a testament to our shared wisdom and resilience.”

The visit underscores Kosovo’s ongoing commitment to strengthening cultural and historical ties with Albania, celebrating shared heritage while promoting unity in the Albanian-speaking world.
