Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has addressed the incident involving unidentified drones near the flight path of his aircraft on the night of his arrival in Ireland.

“Regarding my visit to Ireland and the drones. Ireland has indeed confirmed this drone story. There will be an investigation—there really were drones,” the Ukrainian president said.

In reference to German Chancellor Friedrich Merz’s statement that Zelensky should be cautious — “We are being as careful as possible, but I think our security sector needs to reflect on this and deal with it.”

“There is nothing more to add; we are already used to living under such circumstances.”

Media reports earlier stated that four unidentified drones were flying toward the flight path of Zelensky’s aircraft as it was landing at Dublin Airport.

The same drones reportedly also spied on the Irish naval vessel LÉ William Butler Yeats, which had been covertly positioned near Dublin.

On Friday, the Taoiseach (Irish Prime Minister) Micheál Martin said he had been briefed on the incident.
