The United States has reaffirmed its strong and strategic support for Kosovo through the adoption of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), Kosovo’s Embassy in Washington announced on Thursday.

In a statement published on the social media platform X, the embassy emphasized that the NDAA underscores Washington’s continued commitment to Kosovo’s sovereignty, security, and Euro-Atlantic integration path.

According to the embassy, the legislation explicitly supports the Kosovo–Serbia dialogue based on mutual recognition and clearly rejects any ideas of territorial division or border changes, reinforcing long-standing U.S. policy in the Western Balkans.

“The United States of America has reaffirmed its strong support for the Republic of Kosovo through the adoption of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA),” the statement said.

The embassy added that the act highlights U.S. dedication to Kosovo’s independence and regional stability, while sending a clear political signal against proposals that could undermine Kosovo’s territorial integrity.

Expression of Gratitude to U.S. Institutions

Kosovo’s Ambassador to the United States, Ilir Dugolli, expressed gratitude to the U.S. Congress, the White House, and all contributors involved in the inclusion and approval of provisions relevant to Kosovo.

“We are grateful to Congress, the White House, and all those who contributed to the inclusion and adoption of provisions of importance to the Republic of Kosovo,” the embassy stated.

The adoption of the NDAA is viewed in Prishtina as a significant diplomatic and strategic affirmation of Kosovo’s partnership with the United States, particularly amid ongoing regional tensions and dialogue efforts with Serbia.
