Tonight, dangerous road conditions are expected across Kosovo due to temperatures dropping as low as –9°C.
Prime Minister Albin Kurti has urged citizens to avoid unnecessary travel and to follow winter safety measures, as wet roads are expected to freeze overnight.
Full Statement:
Dear Citizens,
Tonight is a critical night for road traffic in Kosovo. The sharp temperature drop, expected to reach –9°C, increases risk since wet roads from recent rain are likely to freeze.
All road maintenance companies are actively working to facilitate safe travel. Compliance with winter regulations is essential, including equipping vehicles with winter tires and chains.
We urge everyone to avoid traveling unless absolutely necessary. If you must travel tonight, drive carefully and adjust to weather conditions.
We are doing our utmost to assist, and we ask for your cooperation to enhance safety by avoiding unnecessary travel.
Sincerely,
Albin Kurti
