On 16 June 1999, an Albanian family was kidnapped by Serbian paramilitary forces in Kosovo. During the abduction, a sexual assault against a young girl was imminent, witnessed by her family.

Four British soldiers intervened, risking their lives to stop the crime. Thanks to their actions, the girl was saved and the family survived. The British newspaper Mirror dedicated its front page to the incident at the time, describing the soldiers as heroes and publishing their photographs.

While the newspaper’s front page did not reveal the exact location of the incident, the full story was never shared on Facebook. 27 years later, the photograph was reposted on the social media platform X, rekindling public interest in the event.

British MP Alicia Kearns has expressed her desire to identify these soldiers and acknowledge their heroic contribution during the Kosovo conflict.
