Kosovo Customs, in close coordination with the Kosovo Intelligence Agency (AKI), carried out a joint inspection operation on Thursday in several pharmacies in Peja and Gjakova suspected of possessing and distributing smuggled medicines.
Kosovo Customs reported that one unit conducted inspections in the Gjakova area, while six other units carried out inspections in Peja.
During the operation, a total of 988 packages of medication were seized, with an estimated value of around €10,000.
“The operation was carried out in full accordance with standard operating procedures and represents another concrete effort by Kosovo Customs and partner institutions to combat smuggling, protect public health, and strengthen the rule of law. Kosovo Customs remains committed, in cooperation with security and intelligence institutions, to continue inspections and operational actions against all illegal activities,” the Customs announcement stated.
