The Chairman of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), Lumir Abdixhiku, has secured the confidence of the delegates at the Working Assembly to continue leading the party.

After the conclusion of the Assembly’s proceedings, Abdixhiku spoke to the media, emphasizing that the party is open to discussions and cooperation across the entire political spectrum, stressing the need for a consensual president who would represent Kosovo’s national unity.

“We have not had such discussions. What we discussed is the need for political communication within the political spectrum. When we speak about political agreements, we do not mean political bargaining; we mean that parties must sit down to secure the numbers for a future President of Kosovo. I am ready to speak with the entire political spectrum to provide a solution to the very important issue of the president, who must be consensual and represent Kosovo’s national unity.

When we say political agreements, do not take it negatively—it is a fundamental practice in democracies. Parties must sit down to form a majority; otherwise, how would that majority be formed? LDK is committed to finding consensus, and we are ready to do so,” he said.
