A passenger bus veered off the road in the southern Turkish province of Antalya, killing eight people and injuring dozens more.
The accident occurred on Sunday in the Dosemealti area, northwest of Antalya’s city center. Footage broadcast by state television TRT showed the bus overturned.
Provincial Governor Hulusi Sahin announced that 26 people were injured, some of them in critical condition. According to the DHA news agency, several passengers were thrown out of the vehicle as a result of the crash. The bus had been traveling overnight from Tekirdag in northwestern Turkey to Antalya.
Authorities suspect that difficult weather conditions may have contributed to the accident.
