Brian Brković, one of the founders of the Civic Movement Bravo, criticized Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić for his unannounced visit to Novi Sad this morning. Vučić, accompanied by Miloš Vučević, president of the Serbian Progressive Party, opened the seventh “Homeland Fair” in the city.
Brković told Danas that a president who has to sneak into Serbia’s second-largest city cannot claim legitimate authority to govern. He emphasized that if Vučić’s rule were truly based on the support of citizens rather than criminal networks or corruption, he would have no problem announcing his visit and walking through the center of Novi Sad.
“Instead, we see a staged, controlled appearance. A president who cannot face his people should call elections to verify his legitimacy. And if he already sneaked into Novi Sad, the first place he should go is the railway station to pay respect to the victims of his regime’s corruption and organized crime,” Brković said.
