The Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo has been officially constituted after the election of Albulena Haxhiu as Speaker for the 10th Legislature and the subsequent appointment of deputy speakers representing parliamentary parties and non-majority communities.
Following the election of Albulena Haxhiu as Speaker of the Assembly, members of parliament proceeded with the selection of deputy speakers in line with institutional procedures.
As part of the agreed parliamentary process, Ardian Gola was proposed from the ranks of the Vetëvendosje Movement (LVV), while Vlora Çitaku was nominated by the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) and Kujtim Shala by the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK).
From the Serb community, Slavko Simić was nominated, while Emilija Rexhepi was proposed as a representative of other non-majority, non-Serb communities.
The voting on the deputy speakers was conducted as a single package, in accordance with the latest ruling of the Constitutional Court of Kosovo, which requires collective voting for these leadership positions.
The Assembly approved the appointments with 104 votes in favour, 3 votes against, and 6 abstentions, completing the formation of the parliamentary leadership and formally constituting the Assembly of Kosovo’s 10th Legislature.
