Prime Minister Edi Rama is in France at the invitation of President Emmanuel Macron. In the first visit of an Albanian prime minister, of this level in the history of diplomatic relations between the two countries, the strengthening of cooperation between the two countries was underlined.
The President of France, Emmanuel Macron, said that he was “impressed by the reforms and capacities for the integration of Albania in the EU” and emphasized the strengthening of cooperation between the two countries.
“To strengthen our precious partnership in all areas. We will sign intergovernmental agreements on water management, sustainable tourism and innovation. France-Albania Council for innovation.”
Prime Minister Edi Rama, in a joint conference with President Macron, also shared his journey as an immigrant in France.
“I am coming from an experience that I never imagined, which was signed when I came to France in the 90s. When I came from the airport I waited in line for a long time to find a taxi. He said he thought he had seen everything when he came to this palace to receive the religion of honor. Today I am proud not of myself, but of Albania, of the friendship between Albania and France.
It was the first time in our friendship and diplomatic relations that a representative of the Albanian state was received in this way. At that time, a group of friends of Albania, they were a small group the size of the fingers of a hand. Today there are many people in Albania to invest. Today we are witnessing the results for Albania, for all the countries of the Balkans, and the growth plan that was approved by the EU is something that goes in this direction. It is a united Europe, which is not held hostage to the old traditional ways of integration where there is something or nothing,” he said.
