Albania’s Ministry of Defense has rejected concerns raised by Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić regarding the trilateral defense cooperation agreement between Albania, Kosovo, and Croatia, emphasizing that all details of the deal are publicly available.

In an official response, the ministry stated that full information about the agreement has been published on its website, underscoring transparency in the initiative. The agreement, signed in March 2025 in Tirana, aims to strengthen cooperation in defense and security among the three countries.

The response comes after Vučić described the regional security situation as “more complex” following the agreement and announced that Serbia would further increase its military capabilities.

Croatia’s Defense Minister Ivan Anušić also reacted to Vučić’s remarks, stating that the time when other countries could dictate Croatia’s policies has long passed. His comments followed a meeting with Albania’s Defense Minister Ermal Nufi.

Meanwhile, NATO has called on Serbia’s leadership to adopt a constructive and responsible approach in its relations with the alliance and neighboring countries.

The trilateral declaration between Albania, Kosovo, and Croatia focuses on enhancing joint capabilities, strengthening regional stability, and deepening strategic cooperation in defense matters.

Despite criticism from Belgrade, officials from the three countries maintain that the agreement is not directed against any state but is part of broader efforts to improve security coordination in the Western Balkans.
