Kosovo’s top judoka Distria Krasniqi has secured a place in the semifinals of the European Judo Championships currently taking place in Tbilisi, where nearly 400 athletes from 46 countries are competing.

Competing in the women’s 52kg category, Krasniqi delivered a strong performance from the outset. She opened her campaign with a convincing victory over Tereza Bodnarova, winning the bout with a decisive waza-ari.

She continued her impressive form in the quarterfinals, defeating Aleksandra Kaleta to book her spot among the final four contenders.

In the semifinal, Krasniqi is set to face Italy’s Odette Giuffrida, in what is expected to be a highly competitive match.

Meanwhile, Kosovo’s other representatives, Fatjona Kasapi and Erza Muminoviq, were eliminated earlier in the competition.

Krasniqi’s progression reinforces Kosovo’s strong presence in international judo, as she continues her pursuit of another major European title.
