Chief Prosecutor of Kosovo’s Special Prosecution Office, Blerim Isufaj, met on Friday with Anu Prattipati, the Chargé d’Affaires at the U.S. Embassy in Pristina.
The meeting focused on the work of the Special Prosecution Office and the rule of law in Kosovo.
The Special Prosecution Office thanked Prattipati and the U.S. Embassy for their support in successful investigations targeting criminal organizations involved in transnational crime, as well as for the excellent cooperation with U.S. law-enforcement agencies in the fight against organized transnational crime.
The Special Prosecution Office also expressed its gratitude to the U.S. Embassy for its continued support in safeguarding the full independence of the Special Prosecution Office and Kosovo’s justice system more broadly.
The meeting comes after British Ambassador to Kosovo Jonathan Hargreaves also met with Isufaj earlier on Friday, with the two discussing the priorities and challenges facing the Special Prosecution Office and the continued UK-Kosovo partnership in strengthening the rule of law.
