Hysni Gucati, head of the Kosovo Liberation Army War Veterans’ Organization (OVL-UÇK), has visited Jakup Krasniqi at the detention centre in The Hague. Gucati confirmed that Krasniqi had refused an examination by doctors in The Hague, explaining that he has been experiencing some vision problems, Express reports.

Speaking to RTV21 on Thursday, Gucati said he had personally urged Krasniqi not to refuse medical assistance, stressing that it was necessary.

The head of the OVL-UÇK also announced that he plans to visit the other former KLA leaders detained in The Hague during November. He is scheduled to meet Hashim Thaçi and Kadri Veseli on November 11 and 12, respectively, and Rexhep Selimi towards the end of the month.

“He was supposed to have his eye examination, but he refused again. I tried to persuade him. His fellow detainees also tried,” Gucati said.

Regarding the Law on the Specialist Chambers, Gucati described it as a good law and called on Prime Minister Albin Kurti not to reach any agreement with the European Union that would undermine the country’s interests in discussions concerning the legislation.
