A suspected explosive device was discovered on Wednesday morning in the border area of Goden, near Gjakova, prompting an immediate response from police and security authorities.
According to information from the scene, the object was found at around 10:00 a.m. by a police patrol operating along the green border zone near the Goden–Dobrunë crossing area.
Following the discovery, specialized police units were dispatched to the location and determined that the object is suspected to be an explosive device classified as Category E-3. Authorities secured the area as a precautionary measure to eliminate any potential risk to residents and passersby.
Sources familiar with the investigation said that police established a security perimeter around the site pending the arrival and intervention of explosive ordnance disposal specialists tasked with safely handling and removing the device.
The duty prosecutor was notified of the incident and ordered the case to be registered as a “Discovery of Unexploded Ordnance.”
Authorities are now working to determine the origin of the device and how it ended up in the border area. The investigation remains ongoing.
