Ivana Stradner, analyzed the meeting between the president of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, and the president of France, Emmanuel Macron.

Stradner, in a post on “X”, reacted to President Macron, who said in a post that “France is committed to the European future of Serbia, a future that is already being written.”

Stadner wrote that it is ridiculous to see Macron saying that France is committed to Serbia’s European future, when in fact Vucic does not want EU membership.

“He wants to be on the ‘EU road’ (as he calls it) and takes European money for his political survival while cooperating with China and Russia,” she wrote.

The American analyst further said that the only good news from this meeting is that it is said that Macron has asked Vucic to bring to justice the persons responsible for the attack in Banjska.

“Let’s see if Vucic will realize what he promised. “I wouldn’t be surprised if Vucic promised Macron that he would fix this after the election… just to buy more time,” Stradner wrote.

Stradner further stated that it is reported that the Serbian president, Aleksandar Vučić, has signed a new contract regarding the French Rafale aircraft.

“Vucic has a long history of misleading and untrue statements, so I would just wait and see as I don’t believe Macron would sell the planes as another crisis erupts in the region. Vucic does not need tanks and planes to fulfill his security objectives in the Balkans (he operates through paramilitary groups). However, he likes to sign defense contracts because he knows that the West loves dollars,” writes the American analyst.

She further emphasized that French President Emmanuel Macron has a long history of making some terrible foreign policy decisions.

“But I doubt he can’t see Vucic. Macron is using the “Serbia-France historical friendship” card with Vucic to try to convince him to wake up. This is Vucic’s last chance to fix things before things escalate again in the region,” Stradner wrote.

The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, said that during his visit to France, namely during the meeting with President Emmanuel Macron, they also discussed Kosovo.

According to the Serbian media, Telegrafi reports, Vučić emphasized that he had a meeting with the French president which lasted more than three hours.

“Last night there was a conversation with President Macron, we had dinner and then we were alone until 11:15 p.m. I am very happy about the results of those talks, because we were able to discuss all aspects of cooperation and reach some concrete agreements”, Vucic is quoted as saying.
