Around 50,000 approved applications for voting from outside Kosovo ahead of elections, Germany and Switzerland lead

The registration period for voters outside Kosovo is ongoing. It began on May 6 and will end on May 17.

Central Election Commission (CEC) spokesperson Valmir Elezi stated that since the beginning of the process, more than 59,000 applications have been submitted.

“According to the data, from the beginning of this process until now (Tuesday, May 12, 2026, 10:00), through the electronic platform http://diapsora.kqz-ks.org, 59,415 registration requests have been received. Of these, 49,493 have been approved, 4,944 have been rejected, and 4,957 are pending review,” Elezi said.

“Of the 49,493 approved applications, 11,782 Kosovo citizens have registered to vote in person at diplomatic missions, 1,325 have registered to send their ballot package to the CEC postal box in Kosovo, and 36,386 have registered to send their ballot package to a postal box outside Kosovo,” Elezi added.

As he further stated, the countries with the highest number of registered voters for the June 7 elections are Germany, followed by Switzerland, France, and Sweden.

“The countries with the highest number of registered voters are: Germany (24,624), Switzerland (11,063), France (2,172), Sweden (2,058), Austria (1,508), the United Kingdom (1,337), the United States (1,115), and Italy (1,046),” he said.
