Aleksandar Vulin has not yet come to terms with the sanctions imposed by the United States. This is evident from his remarks against the State Department, which called for a fair trial for Kosovo citizens arrested by Serbia on alleged war crimes charges.

The Serbian Deputy Prime Minister stated that he does not accept warnings from America and insulted Albanians in Kosovo using racist terms.

“In Serbia, even in such cases, the presumption of innocence and the principle that the indictment must be proven applies, which cannot be said for the State Department when it imposes sanctions or comments on the views of those who are politically against them. The State Department never asked the Albanians for a fair trial for dozens of Serbs who were arrested and often kidnapped,” Vulin said.

Vulin has been sanctioned by the U.S. for his destabilizing actions in the Western Balkans and for his strong ties to Russia.

Moscow continues to keep an eye on our region, amid suspicions that it is trying to open a new conflict front to divert attention from the war in Ukraine.

In the Russian House in Belgrade, the scientific forum “Balkan Dialogue” was opened with an official from Moscow warning that this will be a very significant year for the Balkans.

The Director of the Russian House, Jevgeni Baranov, stated that his country seeks to extend the network of cooperation to more countries of the former Yugoslavia, signaling that Russia has set its sights on Montenegro and North Macedonia.

Meanwhile, Leonid Drachevski, who holds the position of Russia’s extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador, stated that the Balkans remain important to Moscow. “The war was, remains, and will continue,” said the Russian official, adding that he is interested in what will happen in our region.
