An American Airlines flight traveling from New York to Delhi was forced to turn back and fly over the Caspian Sea towards Fiumicino Airport due to a bomb threat.
The plane safely landed at Rome’s airport at 17:22. The Boeing 787 was seen approaching runway 1, escorted by two military fighter jets.
According to protocol, after all passengers have disembarked, thorough checks will be carried out on board the aircraft.
