Bulgarian President Rumen Radev has appointed Goritsa Grancharova-Kozhareva as the country’s new acting Prime Minister. Radev’s decision, announced on August 9, comes after political parties failed in three attempts to form a government following the elections on June 16.
Grancharova-Kozhareva, who was previously the Chair of the Audit Chamber, is now tasked with appointing the acting cabinet of Bulgaria and must announce the names of the cabinet members by August 19 at the latest.
“Starting tomorrow, I will begin discussions with current ministers and other experts,” Grancharova-Kozhareva stated.
Radev mentioned that new early parliamentary elections are likely to be held on October 20. These will be the seventh parliamentary elections in Bulgaria in three years, reports rel.
