A rare and alarming incident occurred on the Durrës–Plepa (Beach) urban transit line when a moving city bus caught fire with passengers inside, Gazeta Sinjali reports.
The fire broke out near the Railway Sector while the bus was in motion. Thankfully, the driver reacted swiftly, stopping the vehicle and assisting in the safe evacuation of all passengers. No injuries have been reported.
Firefighters arrived promptly at the scene and managed to extinguish the flames, though the bus was completely destroyed. The damage remains purely material, and an official investigation is underway. Preliminary findings suggest the fire may have been caused by a technical fault.
