CEC Approves Postal Voting Mailbox Addresses in 22 Countries

The Central Election Commission (CEC) at today’s meeting approved the mailbox addresses for voting by mail from outside Kosovo, which will begin on May 25 and end on June 6.

In order to provide voting opportunities for citizens registered to vote by mail, mailboxes will be functional in these 22 countries: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Hungary, Italy, Canada, Croatia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, the United Kingdom, Norway, the United States, Albania, Slovenia, Sweden, Türkiye, and Switzerland. The CEC’s permanent mailbox in Kosovo will also remain functional.

As part of the preparatory process, the CEC also approved the operational security plan for the early elections for the Assembly of Kosovo. The purpose of this plan is interinstitutional cooperation for election security, coordination with law enforcement bodies, and management of potential situations.

At the same meeting, the CEC approved the training program and training curriculum for the early parliamentary elections in Kosovo. This program will include thousands of individuals who will be engaged in the electoral process, including on election day, such as trainers, polling station council members, members of mobile teams for voting by persons with special needs, counters in the 38 Municipal Counting Centers, and the staff of the Counting and Results Center.

The training program aims to equip election staff with knowledge regarding all voting and counting procedures at polling stations, conditional voting, voting for persons with special needs, counting procedures at the Municipal Counting Centers, and procedures for packaging election materials.
