China’s Ministry of Commerce on Saturday criticized the decision by the European Union to include Chinese companies in its 20th package of sanctions against Russia, calling for their immediate removal from the list.

The EU sanctions target suppliers from third countries that provide advanced technology, including firms based in China suspected of supplying dual-use goods or weapons systems to Russia’s military industry.

According to an official statement, the move contradicts agreements and understandings reached between China and the EU, undermining mutual trust and the stability of their relations.

Chinese authorities warned they would take measures to protect the interests of their companies, adding that the consequences of this decision would fall on the EU.
