Albulena Haxhiu, who is also serving as acting President, has sent invitations to political parties to begin consultations on setting a date for early elections.
According to reports, an official invitation has already been delivered to the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), calling for a meeting tomorrow at 15:00.
The early elections come as a result of the failure to elect a new president, deepening the ongoing institutional deadlock. If held, these would mark the third elections in just over a year, following votes on February 9 and December 28, 2025.
It remains unclear whether Haxhiu will meet parties jointly or separately. Based on past practice, such consultations are typically conducted through individual meetings with each political party.
