The Basic Court in Ferizaj has ordered one month of detention for the suspects involved in the murder of police sergeant Muhamed Lika, Reporteri.net reports.
This measure was imposed due to well-grounded suspicion that the suspects committed the criminal offense of aggravated murder in co-perpetration.
The court’s announcement describes how the incident unfolded:
“On April 1, 2025, around 23:00 in Kaçanik, at the entrance of a building, the accused—acting with intent and prior planning—had conspired to kill sergeant M.L., a police officer at the Kaçanik Police Station.
The victim was followed after work until he entered his apartment building. A minor suspect then shot him inside, using a 9.19mm firearm.
Four bullet casings were found at the scene. The sergeant died at the Family Medicine Center in Kaçanik due to injuries from the gunfire.”
The minor suspect fled to a local establishment, where he met with adult co-conspirators, and they escaped together. Surveillance footage and phone records revealed a network of individuals involved in tracking, planning, and aiding the murder.
The judge approved the prosecutor’s request for pre-trial detention, stating the evidence was solid under the Kosovo Criminal Procedure Code.
“Appeals against this ruling will not delay its execution,” the statement concluded.
