NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said on Friday that the alliance remains ready to defend every inch of its territory after a residential building in Romania was hit by a drone during a Russian attack on neighboring Ukraine.
“Russia’s reckless behavior is a danger to all of us,” Rutte wrote on the social media platform X. “Last night once again showed that the consequences of their illegal and aggressive war do not stop at their borders.”
He added that NATO will continue to strengthen its defense and deterrence capabilities within its territory and will keep supporting Ukraine in its efforts to defend itself against Russian aggression.
