Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan held a phone conversation on Monday with former U.S. President Donald Trump, which he described as “very productive, comprehensive, and sincere.”
In a post on the social platform X, Erdogan stated that the call covered several major regional and global issues, including the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, the situation in Syria, the war in Ukraine, global trade, and recent developments in U.S.-Iran negotiations.
“My phone call with my dear friend Mr. Donald Trump was fruitful and very sincere,” Erdogan wrote, adding that he looks forward to meeting with him in the near future.
The Turkish President revealed that both leaders reaffirmed their mutual willingness to strengthen cooperation between their countries, particularly in the fields of defense industry and trade relations.
Erdogan also expressed appreciation for Trump’s efforts to promote peace and resolve global conflicts, emphasizing Turkey’s readiness to contribute to regional stability and security.
“I expressed my wish to welcome my friend in Turkey as soon as possible. He, in turn, invited us to the U.S.,” Erdogan said, signaling a potential future meeting between the two political figures.
