The foreign ministers of the European Union member states gathered today in Luxembourg to discuss the ongoing situation in Ukraine and to coordinate the bloc’s next steps in response to Russian aggression, reports Rks News.

Ukraine’s Foreign Minister, Andrii Sybiha, was also expected to take part in the meeting, which was chaired by the EU’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs, Kaja Kallas.

In her remarks, Kallas confirmed that preparations are underway for a new wave of punitive measures.
“Anyone who wants the killings to stop must apply maximum pressure,” she stated, emphasizing the importance of European unity in the face of Moscow’s continued aggression.

The EU’s top diplomat announced that “the EU is working on a 17th sanctions package against Russia,” reaffirming the bloc’s commitment to increasing pressure on the Kremlin.
