EULEX Head of Mission Antero Lopes hosted a delegation of diplomatic representatives from EU member states in Kosovo, together with Kosovo’s Interior Minister Xhelal Sveçla, at the EULEX headquarters in Mitrovica.
According to EULEX, the meeting focused on the contribution of the mission’s Formed Police Unit to stability in Kosovo, particularly through its crowd and riot management capabilities provided in support of the Kosovo Police.
The participants discussed the unit’s role in supporting the Kosovo Police in line with European best practices and in the interest of all communities in Kosovo.
“It was a pleasure to welcome today, at the EULEX Mitrovica premises, a delegation of diplomatic representatives of EU member states in Kosovo, together with Minister of Internal Affairs Xhelal Sveçla,” EULEX said.
The mission added that the delegation held a productive discussion with Lopes on the “valuable contribution” of the Formed Police Unit to Kosovo’s stability and its support for the Kosovo Police in managing crowds and public disturbances.
