Pristina, June 7, 2026 – As part of its ongoing efforts to maintain public order and security and prevent criminal activities, the Kosovo Police conducted searches at two locations in northern Kosovo following the receipt of information regarding a threat made several days earlier against the Minister of Internal Affairs, Xhelal Sveçla.
The threat is suspected to have been made by a male Kosovo Serb suspect. Following investigative actions, police carried out searches today at two locations in the municipality of Zubin Potok, where four long guns of various types were discovered and confiscated.
Three firearms were found at one location, while a fourth was located at the second site. Two of the weapons were legally registered, while the other two were possessed without authorization.
The individual suspected of making the threat is believed to be currently outside the country.
The weapons have been seized by relevant police units, and the case remains under investigation in cooperation and coordination with judicial authorities.
