France is preparing for a new heatwave, with authorities taking urgent measures to cope with the extreme temperatures expected to affect the country.
According to international media reports, around 1,000 air conditioning units will be delivered to hospitals across the Paris region by the end of the week as part of efforts to improve conditions for patients and medical staff during the period of intense heat.
The French government has also announced the procurement of approximately 30,000 air conditioning units for hospitals nationwide as part of its long-term strategy to manage future heatwaves.
Meanwhile, hospitals in Paris have already begun securing additional cooling equipment while awaiting government deliveries to help address rising indoor temperatures.
Health experts warn that recurring heatwaves are having a significant impact on patients’ health, particularly in wards treating critically ill individuals, making air conditioning an urgent necessity within the healthcare system.
