A tense and heated phone conversation between Milorad Dodik and Bakir Izetbegović has sparked controversy after an audio recording of the exchange was made public.
During the lengthy conversation, marked by raised voices and sharp accusations, Izetbegović repeatedly confronted Dodik over his denial of the Srebrenica genocide and what he described as efforts to undermine the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Dodik, in turn, accused Izetbegović of threatening him, claiming that the Bosniak politician was effectively putting “mujahideen” after him.
The exchange highlights the deep political and ethnic divisions that continue to shape Bosnia and Herzegovina more than three decades after the war. The release of the recording has reignited debate over genocide denial, nationalist rhetoric, and the increasingly strained relationship between the country’s leading political figures.
