Kosovo Assembly Speaker Albulena Haxhiu met today with the European Union Ambassador to Kosovo, Dirk Schuebel, to discuss the European Commission’s Progress Report, the reform process and Kosovo’s European perspective.

Following the meeting, Haxhiu emphasised the importance of institutional commitment to accelerating reforms and addressing the shortcomings identified in reports by European institutions.

“Now that the Assembly has resumed its work, we have an opportunity to give reforms new momentum and make progress in the areas where shortcomings have been identified,” Haxhiu wrote on Facebook.

An important part of the discussion focused on the Reform Agenda, the Growth Plan, meeting obligations within the established deadlines, and the consideration of Kosovo’s application for membership in the European Union.

Haxhiu expressed her readiness to strengthen cooperation between the Assembly and the European Union Office in Kosovo, particularly in the legislative process and in overseeing the implementation of reforms.

She stressed that advancing Kosovo’s European integration requires commitment and shared responsibility from all institutions.

“The path towards the European Union requires continuous work, commitment and responsibility from all institutions. I believe that through cooperation and joint efforts, we can achieve visible progress in the reforms our country and citizens need,” the Assembly Speaker emphasised.
