The Houthi group has warned airlines, transport operators, employees and travellers to avoid airports and airspace in Saudi Arabia, claiming they could become targets of future attacks.

In a post on the social media platform X, Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Saree stated that Saudi airports were exposed to potential attacks.

“Airports are exposed to potential attacks and could become theatres of operations for our forces,” Saree wrote.

He clarified that the airports in Mecca and Medina were excluded from the threats, while warning that Saudi Arabia would be held responsible for the consequences of any attempt to stop their attacks.

The spokesperson added that the group would continue its campaign under the principle of “airport for airport, blockade for blockade, and escalation for escalation” until its stated objectives were achieved.

The threat comes amid heightened regional tensions, with the Houthis’ warning raising concerns about the safety of air travel and transportation in Saudi Arabia.
