Political parties in Kosovo have until May 7 to declare whether they will participate in the June 7 elections, as well as to formalize any pre-election coalitions.

Based on the activity plan approved by the Central Election Commission of Kosovo, the application period for certification of new parties and the submission of candidate lists for members of parliament began on May 2. The deadline for new parties runs until May 10, while candidate lists must be submitted by May 12.

So far, there have been no clear signals that major parties are planning pre-election coalitions. In the last elections, held on December 28, among the major Albanian parties only Vetëvendosje entered a coalition with smaller parties, namely Guxo, Alternativa, and PSHDK.

A day earlier, the KQZ approved the activity plan and budget for the early elections. According to this decision, the total cost of the electoral process is expected to reach €10.887 million.

According to the plan, the election campaign will last 10 days, starting on May 28 and ending on June 7 at 07:00, when polling stations open.

On May 5, a decision will be made regarding limits on campaign spending, while on May 16 the draw will take place to determine the order of political entities on the ballot.

Postal voting will be conducted from May 25 to June 6, while voting at diplomatic missions will be organized one day before the elections. The registration period for out-of-country voting runs from May 6 to May 17.

On May 21, the KQZ will certify the voter list both inside and outside the country.
