Kenya’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced that the country recognized Kosovo today in the interest of international peace and security, territorial integrity, and to strengthen relations with the Balkan states.
In a statement on social media, the Ministry revealed that President William Ruto of Kenya met with Behgjet Pacolli, who visited as a special envoy from Kosovo’s President, Vjosa Osmani.
“The declaration of Kosovo’s independence on February 17, 2008, was affirmed by the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in 2010. Kenya has recognized Kosovo in the interest of international peace and security, territorial integrity, and to strengthen relations with the Balkan states,” the statement said.
The meeting took place at State House in Nairobi, marking a significant diplomatic step in Kenya’s engagement with the Balkans.
