The Chief of Staff of the NATO-led KFOR mission, Brigadier General Chad Daniels, visited North Mitrovica, where he observed firsthand the ongoing activities of personnel from the Multinational Specialized Unit (MSU).
Daniels was accompanied by members of his staff during the visit, which, according to KFOR, demonstrates the mission’s commitment to maintaining a visible presence and engaging with all communities across Kosovo.
In an official statement, KFOR said the visit also aimed to provide the mission with a clear understanding of the situation on the ground and enable it to adjust its presence through a gradual, conditions-based approach.
Brigadier General Daniels emphasized that genuine security is achieved through direct communication with citizens.
“Security starts with people. Every conversation, every handshake and every opportunity to listen helps us better understand the communities we serve. KFOR will continue to engage face-to-face with people from all communities across Kosovo, because lasting security is built through trust, respect and human connection,” General Daniels said.
According to the statement, these activities contribute to the ongoing assessment of the security situation and support KFOR’s efforts to ensure a safe and secure environment for all residents of Kosovo.
