The increased number of KFOR troops and vehicles that had been stationed at the Iber Bridge have now withdrawn as of this morning. Only the Italian carabinieri with four vehicles remain at the site, whereas previously they were present with just two vehicles.
Additionally, units of the Kosovo Police are continuing their usual patrols on the bridge.
Apart from KFOR vehicles, EULEX vehicles have also been stationed on the bridge over the Ibar River in Mitrovica.
Work has continued today on the bridge itself and its surrounding areas.
The Deputy Minister of Infrastructure, Hysen Durmishi, released a report on Tuesday assessing the Iber Bridge’s load-bearing capacities. The report stated that the bridge is stable, durable, and functional.
Preliminary conclusions from the report indicate that during testing, the bridge structure responded as an elastic structure with limited deformation and stability, and no cracks were observed.
