Kosovo Police have arrested a suspect, M.R., for issuing threats against Prime Minister Albin Kurti via social media, alongside posts inciting violence in the name of the terrorist organization “Brigada Sever”, reports Reporteri.
According to the official statement, the suspect is a 21-year-old man from Zvečan, and during his detention, the police conducted a search at his residence, where an illegal hunting rifle was found and confiscated.
The investigation into the case began on January 7, 2025, when the Serious Crimes Investigation Unit initiated a case for the criminal offense “Threatening” following social media threats against Prime Minister Kurti and violent posts linked to “Brigada Sever”.
The suspect, M.R. (born 2004), was arrested on January 10, 2025, in Zvečan and was interrogated in the presence of his defense lawyer. The search at his residence also led to the seizure of an illegal hunting rifle.
After the interrogation, the Mitrovica Basic Prosecutor’s Office decided to impose a 48-hour police detention on the suspect, and the investigation into the case will continue under the authorization of the prosecutor.
