Kosovo Police have seized nearly three kilograms of suspected marijuana, two vehicles and two mobile phones during an operation targeting the suspected transportation of narcotics from Prishtina toward Mitrovica.
According to the Kosovo Police, the Central Sector for Drug Investigation (SQHN) located and placed two vehicles with local license plates under surveillance after receiving information that they were allegedly transporting narcotics.
During an attempt to stop the vehicles, the suspects allegedly failed to comply with police orders and struck uniformed police officers. Police said officers used their firearms to neutralize the perceived threat.
The suspected vehicles were subsequently stopped by police units. During a search of one of the vehicles, officers discovered and seized approximately three kilograms of a substance suspected to be marijuana.
As part of the investigation, police also carried out three searches at different locations. In addition to the main seizure, officers confiscated approximately 0.7 grams of suspected marijuana, two vehicles and two mobile phones as evidence related to the case.
Police said the competent prosecutor was notified of all operational actions. Following their arrest and the completion of other legal procedures, the suspects were ordered to be held for 48 hours.
The investigation remains ongoing.
