The Ministry of Defense of Kosovo is preparing legal amendments aimed at guaranteeing additional financial support for members of the Kosovo Security Force who will participate in the international mission in Gaza Strip.
Under the proposed changes, FSK soldiers who suffer permanent injuries or disability during the mission could receive compensation of up to €200,000, while the families of personnel who lose their lives would be entitled to compensation of up to €100,000.
The proposals also foresee coverage of medical treatment expenses of up to €300,000, in addition to extra salary payments, accommodation, food allowances, and life insurance coverage for deployed personnel.
The legal amendments come as the mission in Gaza is being considered one of the most serious and high-risk international operations undertaken by the Kosovo Security Force to date.
The operation is expected to take place within the framework of an International Stabilization Force, where FSK personnel will be engaged in stabilization efforts and reconstruction management on the ground.
Meanwhile, a team selected by Bashkim Jashari has already been deployed to the field for operational assessment and mission preparations.
