The Kosovo Agency of Statistics (KAS) has published the Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices (HICP) for June 2026, showing that annual inflation reached 6.0%, while consumer prices declined by 0.1% on a monthly basis.

According to the KAS, the annual increase in consumer prices was primarily driven by higher costs in transport (13.7%), housing, water, electricity, gas, and other fuels (11.1%), alcoholic beverages, tobacco, and narcotics (5.1%), restaurants and accommodation services (4.5%), and healthcare (4.1%).

Price increases were also recorded in food and non-alcoholic beverages (3.9%), personal care and miscellaneous goods and services (3.2%), furniture, household equipment, and routine household maintenance (3.0%), clothing and footwear (2.3%), recreation, sport, and culture (2.0%), and information and communication (0.2%).

The only category to record an annual price decline was education services, which fell by 0.6%.

Compared to May, the consumer price index decreased by 0.1%, mainly due to lower prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages (0.6%) and housing, water, electricity, gas, and other fuels (0.3%).

On a monthly basis, prices increased in recreation, sport, and culture (0.8%), education services (0.5%), personal care and miscellaneous services (0.4%), transport (0.3%), alcoholic beverages, tobacco, and narcotics (0.2%), furniture and household equipment (0.2%), restaurants and accommodation services (0.2%), clothing and footwear (0.1%), and healthcare (0.1%).

The KAS noted that the latest publication was prepared using the updated COICOP 2018 classification, with 2025 as the base year (2025 = 100) and an updated statistical methodology.
