Laura Fazliu won the bronze medal at the World Judo Championship in Abu Dhabi.
Our judoka started the world championship without a match in the first round, while in the following two fights she won in the category up to 63 kilograms.
In the first fight, our judoka dominated the Croatian Katarina Kristo, defeating her with ‘waza-ari’.
In the second fight, Laura continued with victory, this time defeating her Russian rival, Dalu Liliashvili, by ‘ippon’, advancing to the quarterfinals.
However, in the quarterfinals, our judoka was unlucky to lose to Andreja Leski of Slovenia.
For the bronze medal, Laura managed to defeat Katharina Haecker through repechage, to provide Kosovo with the only world medal this year in our sports.
