Representatives of political parties were invited to a consultation session to discuss the next steps in the constitutive session of the Kosovo Assembly on Thursday.

The Speaker of the session, Avni Dehari, emphasized that the purpose of these consultations is to ensure that the session continues without any possible procedural violations.

In response to this, LDK MP Doarsa Kica-Xhelili described the action as unprecedented and in violation of the Assembly’s rules of procedure, as reported by Rks News.

“What the Speaker just did is an unprecedented case… the Speaker does not have the right to invite actors in this case. What he can do is put the report to a re-vote. LDK representatives went to discuss this issue. There is no need to invite political parties at this stage,” Kica-Xhelili said.

She added that LDK’s position remains unchanged, stating, “The only unprecedented thing is how they are behaving according to the rules of procedure of the Kosovo Assembly.”

Meanwhile, another LDK MP, Hykmete Bajrami, emphasized that nothing was discussed at the meeting, adding: “Since Dehari does not have the right to call political party members for consultation.”
